In January 2013, Kaidao Lifting Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established as a joint venture between Shanghai Kaitao Trading Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan KITO Co., Ltd., and Jiangyin Kaicheng Hoisting Machinery Co., Ltd. Shanghai Kaidao Trading Co., Ltd. was established in 2003, and Japan KITO Co., Ltd. has more than 80 years of history. Kaidao Lifting Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. specializes in the manufacture and sale of lifting and conveying related products, centered on electric/manual hoist. Overseas subsidiaries and distributors are located in more than 50 countries and are one of the world's three largest chain electric hoist brands. The Japanese market share is 63.8% (2009) and the North American market share is 33.2% (2009).
